Today is the first day of the 2nd National Schools Arts Festival, an event organized by the Department of Education and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts as a way to promote the theme “Celebrating Unity Amidst Cultural Diversity”. The contingents are high school students from the 17 different regions of the country. A street parade was held this morning to celebrate the opening of the celebration. I'll be posting a few more photos from the parade, as well as more information of the event, in the next few days.
The girl in the photograph is a part of the Antipolo street dancers. They represent the CALABARZON (Region IV-A). Their costumes and the street performance gave us a look of what the "Tayo na Antipolo" festival looks like.
